Transportation In and Around Broken Arrow
Transportation has been a factor in a community's development since early times. It was the railroad that contributed to Broken Arrow's founding and growth in 1903. And, it was the Broken Arrow Expressway, which opened in 1960, that triggered Broken Arrow real estate's amazing growth for the last four decades. The Broken Arrow Expressway is directly linked to downtown Tulsa, which gives Broken Arrow real estate easy access to all of the amenities and employment opportunities a metropolitan city offers.
The once city owned bus service is now provided by Tulsa Transit, which provides service to downtown Tulsa and the Memorial Midtown Station, giving commuters more travel options. Education is Key in Broken Arrow
Broken Arrow schools are served by two school districts: Broken Arrow Public Schools and Union Public Schools. Broken Arrow Public Schools serves most of the city. It also received the 2006 "What Parent Want Award" from SchoolMatch. The western portion of Broken Arrow real estate is served by Union Public Schools. Both districts rank within the top five districts in Oklahoma. There are 17 elementary, six middle schools and four high schools in Broken Arrow's public schol system. Parents also have five private schools to choose from for their child's education.
For higher education, there are several colleges and universities in the Broken Arrow area: the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, Oral Roberts University, Tulsa Community College and the Broken Arrow campus of Northeastern State University. The Broken Arrow campus also hosts classes for Tulsa Community College for freshmen and sophomores, providing degree programs right here at home. The Northeastern State University is only an hour from Broken Arrow and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville is an easy drive from the city.

Golf is a mainstay of Broken Arrow's residents. In fact, not only are neighborhoods created around the golf courses, but some courses even offer housing directly on the courses themselves.
In Oklahoma, Broken Arrow is known as the "Youth Sports Capital" due to the support of the community and the city in providing for and supporting youth programs. Youth sports tournaments are played at Broken Arrow's Indian Spring Sports Complex and draw crowds from miles around. Soccer and baseball are played at the Arrowhead Park Softball Complex and football is played at Nienhis Park Football Fields.
Broken Arrow real estate offers both parks and recreation. Project for Public Places has placed Broken Arrow's Central Park on its list of Great Public Places. Broken Arrow is proud of its Youth Center, Community Center, Main Place (senior center) and community events. It's Art in Public Places Program is second to none.
